The best way to dry hair (review for Model HG3307)
By Shamontiel L. Vaughn
I am a long-time, loyal fan of Gold N' Hot products. I've tried other brands, and they just don't do it for me (or my hair) like this one does. But one thing I hate to do is dry my hair. I've been in and out of beauty salons for over 15 years and although it's easier to just let beauticians do what they do, I simply don't want to pay for something I already know how to do so I wash, dry, perm and style my hair more often than not. I'm OK with doing it all, but one thing I absolutely hate doing is drying my own hair. It's great for bicep muscles and electrocuted hair effects, but that's about it, and it's a hassle. I can't stand long-nosed dryers and as much as I like short-nosed dryers with the comb and brush accessories, some of the attachments break way too easily. And then when I keep refills along, of course the dryer dies on me and I'm stuck with an extra brush and combs so I finally stopped eyeing this dryer and bought one. I love it. Finally I'm not sitting around doing arm exercises (save those for the health club) trying to dry my hair, turning the TV volume up entirely too loud to keep myself busy while drying my hair and dealing with the attachment clips breaking. This dryer is comfortable to use while reading or watching TV, there are no fragile extra hair accessories involved, and it's low enough that I don't disturb my neighbors when I get the urge to wash and dry my hair in the late night hours. It's also handy to carry around -- lightweight, has a suitcase-like handle and sturdy. The only downside is the plug that attaches to the bonnet can get a little hot so make sure you sit at a comfortable angle. Plus, that string that's used to tighten the bonnet is too long (if you don't have rollers) so it's going to be a nuisance to your eyes unless you tuck it under the bonnet. I sat back, read a JET magazine and enjoyed my time. This is worth every dollar, and I should've gotten one of these years ago. Even better, it actually does dry your hair without tangling it, which was the reason I hadn't bought one all this time. My hair was easy to comb, oil and style. I still get the same electric-shock hair effect, but that's just part of having thick hair. As long as it's easy to comb afterwards, I don't care. Twenty minutes on high, about five minutes on low and I'm ready to roll.

Good Idea But...
By N. Willis
I loved this dryer and used it daily for about a month. However, like other reviews note, the bonnet is so poorly made that it started to tear after 10 uses. Now, two months later, it is almost unusable. I've tried every resource I can imagine to order a replacement cap, but I cannot find one. I wish the replacement parts were easier to find or that the bonnet were made of something sturdier.... I am back on the market for another dryer to get me through the winter months.

Didn't work for me
By Liz
I REALLY wanted this to work. It just didn't do it for me. I was looking for a soft bonnet to replace diffusing for my 2c/3a hair. No matter what method I try, I always, always end up with frizz and fuzzy ends diffusing. I bought this one and the dryer attachment so I could test them both. This didn't last five minutes on my head before I gave in.First of all, the bonnet is huge and heavy. If you're doing a roller set and had some big curlers to hold it up, this might not be an issue, but it didn't work for my purposes- just bonnet drying my normal hair. The bonnet was so awkward that it just didn't stay up.Second, the hose is pretty short. I couldn't even put the dryer on the toilet and stand up with it. I basically had to set it up on my lap.Third, it just didn't feel warm enough to me. I tweaked the settings a little and nada. Maybe this is due to the empty space in the bonnet, again. I'm just guessing this isn't meant for what I needed.Fourth, even if this had dried my hair well, I'm not sure I would have kept it. I travel a lot and having something portable is important. It doesn't matter if I get great hair on a day at home if I can't replicate it on vacation or a weekend away. It's pretty big.I ended up loving the cheapo soft bonnet attachment by the same brand. Common negative reviews said that it didn't stay on their head and didn't fit their dryer. I didn't experience either of those issues and was left with the absolute best curls I've ever had.If you're using this for rollers, I'd say maybe give it a try. For conditioning or if you're looking to replace a diffuser, this is probably not for you.
