Very Happy With This Dryer
By Dogpro
Tired of using run of the mill dryers that just deliver average results? I know I was.I wanted a better dryer that would dry my hair effortlessly. After much research, I chose this model based on price and quality. No doubt about it, this is a salon quality dryer. It dries my hair in half the time of my old drugstore model, and it leavse my hair frizz free and silky smooth. My hair is shoulder length...medium thickness and straight. My hair has body and shine with this dryer.I guess if I had to say something I don't like, it's the weight of the actual dryer. It is abit on the heavy side. But, it does also have a lifetime guarantee, so I'm happy about that. Salon styling at home!

Elchim 3001 vs. 2001 comparison
By Larry Dunn
We have had a 2001 for about 8 years. It had 1800 watts back then. Our daughter needs one for college, so we opted for this black 3001 on sale for $40 delivered, vs. $75 delivered for the black 2001.Construction: The are almost the same size... handle and body size, with the 2001 being about 1/2" longer in the snout. The 2001 iss all shiny, the 3001 half shiny, half matt. I prefer the looks of the 3001. Cords appear to be about the same length, both with safety plug ins. The 2001 plug doesn't identify country of manufacture, the 3001's plug is made in China. Both bodies are made in Italy.Air Flow / Heat:The 3001 has 5 settings, the 2001 has 6 settings, as follows:3001:Slow-ColdSlow-Warm+Slow-Hot --- missingFast-ColdFast-WarmFast Hot-2001:Slow-ColdSlow-WarmSlow-HotFast-ColdFast-WarmFast HotThe 2001 gets a little hotter on the maximum setting of Fast-Hot than the 2001 does, but not by a lot. The 3001 Slow-Warm is hotter than the 2001 Slow-Warm. The 3001 is missing a Slow-Hot setting, which is probably good... slow-hot can burn hair pretty quickly. In comparison to a Conair 1500 $20 hair dryer we've also had as a backup for about 10 years, the Conair pushes only about 1/2 the amount/speed of air, and has only cold and hot. The hot is really, really hot... damagingly hot if left on hair for more than about a second.

Makes my hair smoother and less frizzy
By KDB
I wasn't sure the "ionic" or "italian-made" characteristics would be worth the hype but I am pleased with the performance of this dryer. This dryer doesn't dry my hair faster than my old revlon one, and it is not any quieter, but it sure does help reduce frizz. The nozzle attachment also concentrates the heat well so the rest of my head (and room) doesn't heat up as much as with my old dryer.I only wish it had come with the diffuser attachment included, particularly given the high price of the dryer. It comes with an adapter that could be used with the Elchim diffuser, which basically amounts to a small piece of plastic I have to try to not loose in case I do ever purchase the diffuser in the future. I also wish the diffuser could be purchased directly from Amazon.
