Great hair dryer but......

I bought my Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Torino hair dryer in September of 2011. This is my second dryer in four years. It is a fabulous dryer and dries my hair quickly - leaving it shiny. However, after two years of using it maybe four days a week, for 20 minutes at a time, it just up and quit working. I would think that a dryer that is this expensive (would be if not bought on Amazon) would last longer than two years at minimal useage. I am now wondering if this dryer is actually made by Conair as stated on the box but is actually a knockoff? I have read reviews on Amazon on other products (the Otterbox for cell phones) and people researched their defective items and found out that Amazon is selling knockoffs (maybe unintentionally, but still). I think I will contact Conair to voice my concerns.
